kiltboy 's fault for posting the link to that Storm Large video [NSFW!] -- which I watched. Then I watched it again. Then I watched the 3 "making of the video" videos. Then I watched the video again a few more times.
And now I've been stuck singing '8 miles wide' over and over -- i simply can't get it out of my head. Thank goodness I work remotely -- I'm just certain that the corporate drones at work would keel over dead if someone walked through the cube-farm singing the chorus:

My vagina is 8 miles wide.
Absolutely everyone can come inside.
if you're ever frightened just run and hide.

I'm not sure what Drunken Sailor has to do with St. Patrick's day -- but our friend likes that song as much as I dislike that song. So, I'm letting Oscar handle that one. I'll still to basics like 'Molly Malone.'
I did however buy us very cool shirts for St. Pat's. We have matching green bowling shirts from BowlingShirts.com that say "Sappy Paint Hatrick's Day" on the back. I'm loving them.

I'm loving this new Jimmy Buffet tune. I'm sure many of you can relate to the sentiment.
If you have videos blocked, just go to YouTube and watch it there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liN_ps9Vd

Southside Johnny released a new CD of all Tom Waits tunes including a remake of my favorite Juke's tune, New Coat of Paint. I'd describe the music style as "Jazz-Tinged, Soulful, Big Band Blues" (although others might see it as "blues-tinged, soulful, big band jazz"). Honestly, it's quite different from Southside's usually rockin' blues style. It may have taken a few years to complete, but the final product was worth the wait. Maybe Southside is finally growing up (he turns 60 later this year) -- this is the most "adult" sounding music he's ever created. I started looking around to see if there were any videos of Johnny performing the new tunes, I found this GEM of Johnny and the Big Band that I believe is of an appearance on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien show. In the video, Richie "La Bamba" Rosenberg sings the parts that Tom performed on the album. Richie's smooth sound is quite different from Tom's gravelly voice, but he's been singing with Southside for enough years that they can always manage to sound great together. I was browsing around amazon the other day and stumbled across an album by Tom and Mark Wisner called Chesapeake Born. It contains a recording of "Blowed and Torn" (a song I always enjoyed whenever I heard it sung at MDRF). You can buy an MP3 of the song for 99 cents or for 5 Pepsi points. (or if you're really cheap, you can listed to the snippet for free)
